CWA Union Steward Robert Dempster Is Running for North Miami Beach Mayor

North Miami Beach - Robert Dempster, Union Steward for Communications Workers of America Local 3122 and progressive activist, has filed to run for Mayor of North Miami Beach.

Dempster said, "I am running to return integrity to the City of North Miami Beach Commission, and I pledge to work every day to earn back the community's trust."

Dempster was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and moved to North Miami Beach, Florida in 1992. He attended North Miami Senior High School's International Baccalaureate Program before heading to Stetson University for a Bachelor's Degree in Economics.

Dempster is an activist who protested the City's privatization of the water utility. He is a member of the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee and on the Board of the People's Progressive Caucus of Miami-Dade.
